Adobe Firefly
Commercially safe generation inside Creative Cloud
Updated 6 Aug 2026
What Adobe Firefly does
Adobe Firefly generates images, vectors and effects trained on licensed content, integrated across Photoshop, Illustrator and Express.
Our review of Adobe Firefly
Firefly's selling point is indemnified, commercially safe output plus native placement inside Adobe tools. Generative Fill in Photoshop is the killer feature — it beats prompting a standalone model because you keep layers, masks and the rest of your workflow. Raw generation quality is good rather than exceptional, but for agency and brand work the licensing clarity wins.
Pros
- Commercially safe training data
- Generative Fill inside Photoshop
- Vector generation in Illustrator
- Enterprise indemnification
Cons
- Output less striking than Midjourney
