What Synthesia does

Synthesia turns scripts into presenter-led videos using AI avatars in a large number of languages.

Our review of Synthesia

Synthesia solved a specific, expensive problem: producing talking-head training video at scale without studios or reshoots. Edit the script, regenerate the video — that alone justifies it for L&D and internal comms teams. Avatars are convincing but still recognisably synthetic, so it suits informational content more than brand storytelling.

Pros

  • Huge language coverage
  • Script edits regenerate instantly
  • Custom avatars available
  • Strong enterprise features

Cons

  • Avatars still read as synthetic
  • Expensive for occasional use
  • Limited creative control

Pricing

Free trial; plans from around $29/month; Enterprise pricing on request.

Saved our L&D budget

We produce 30 training videos a quarter. Script changes used to mean reshoots. Now they mean an edit. Avatars are still slightly stiff for anything emotive.
